Michel: I love languages and Russian is still the most fascinating for me. I had a great friend from Belarus with whom I vacationed in the Ukraine two times where I started to learn the language. In the meantime I am learning Russian on and off but from working on the platform I am keeping my level (I hope). I also picked up Spanish and Thai but I am still struggling with the latter.

I grew up in Germany, then Zurich, Frankfurt, as a digital nomad around the world, lastly Bangkok and currently I am trying to build up my life living the winters in Thailand and the summers in Germany. The idea and technical implementation on this site is my responsibility and I am super happy to have such strong help now!

Anastasia: I am half russian from my mother's side. I grew up bilingually in Frankfurt, Germany and engaged with my russian side only after my studies of psychology. My grandparents lived near Moscow and I once traveled the golden ring.

I help here at OpenRussian with improving the data but am currently busy with my first child.

Yana: 🇬🇧 Hi, my name is Yana! I have a very convoluted history, but I will try to tell you briefly about myself. I was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, after 18 years I moved to Russia, Yekaterinburg. I went to univesity there and got my first bachelor degree. I've always been interested in learning foreign languages, which is why I can now speak German, English, and Italian. But I have one very interesting, difficult, many-sided, sometimes illogical, but with all my heart beloved language – Russian language! In my opinion, Russian is one of the most difficult, but insanely interesting languages of the world.

Now, as part of the OpenRussian team, I want to say that everyone who learns Russian is a true hero. I'm happy to help you overcome the difficulties on your way to your linguistic goals. I am happy to answer your questions and together with the team we improve OpenRussian for you every day.

🇷🇺 Привет, меня зовут Яна! У меня очень извилистая история, но постараюсь вкратце рассказать о себе. Я родилась и выросла в Казахстане, после 18 лет переехала в Россию, город Екатеринбург. Там я училась и получила свое первое высшее образование. Я всегда была заинтересована изучением иностранных языков и именно поэтому сейчас могу говорить на немецком, английском и итальянском языках. Но есть в моем арсенале один очень интересный, сложный, многогранный, иногда нелогичный, но всем сердцем любимый – русский язык! Я считаю, что русский язык является одним из самых сложных, но безумно интересных языков мира.
