Colloquial, often of secret identities, addresses or plans.

to give a smack, to punch, to clout
Вчера́ в рестора́не я одному́ ти́пу по мо́рде засвети́л.
Yesterday in the restaurant I punched some guy in the face.
Colloquial; usually with по + dative naming the spot hit.
4.
to expose (film) by accident, to fog (film)photography
Я случа́йно засвети́л плёнку.
I accidentally exposed the film.
Of film or photographic paper accidentally ruined by light.

(rare) to begin to shine, to start to glow
На не́бе засвети́ла пе́рвая звезда́.
The first star began to shine in the sky.
Literary; of stars, dawn, a light in the distance.
