    roll, drive, push along

Motion info

кати́ть/ката́ть is a verb of motion pair:

 · кати́ть is unidirectional → go right now or in a specific single trip.

 · ката́ть is multidirectional → habitual movement, repeated trips, or there-and-back movement.

Directionality and Aspect

идти́/ходи́ть are both imperfective and thus focus on the process. Use the perfective aspect partner instead if you want to describe a completed action (идти́пойти́ and ходи́тьсходи́ть).

When choosing a verb, step 1 is directionality (one trip vs repeated/there and back), then step 2 is aspect (process/result, ongoing/completed).
