понра́виться
fairly common #1186B2
- 1.
to like, to enjoy, to take a liking to
Мне о́чень понра́вился э́тот фильм.
I really liked this film.
Impersonal construction: the person who likes is in the dative and the thing liked is the grammatical subject - мне понравился фильм 'I liked the film'. Perfective, so it names the moment of taking a liking to something.
Usage info
Conjugate as per the object being liked, not the subject doing the liking.
E.G.: Они мне нравятся. - 'they' are being liked by 'me', and as such the verb is conjugated in the они́ form.
