I'm leaving for work now.
Used of people leaving a place and of trains/buses departing; with с/из + genitive for the place left.

to escape, to get away (from), to evade
Он всегда́ ухо́дит от прямо́го отве́та.
He always evades giving a straight answer.
With от + genitive: от погони, от ответственности, от ответа.

уходи́ть is derived from the multidirectional verb of motion ходи́ть with prefix у- (away).
