Grandpa is mowing the grass behind the house.
Also of cutting down weeds: косить бурьян.
2.
to squint, to be cross-eyed
Он немно́го ко́сит на левый глаз.
He squints a little with his left eye.
Often with на + eye: косить на левый глаз.
