The footsteps echoed loudly in the empty corridor.
Often with в + prepositional: отдаваться в ушах.
3.
to give oneself (to a man)
Она́ отдава́лась ему без колеба́ний.
She gave herself to him without hesitation.
With dative; euphemistic.
