In the spring we whitewashed the kitchen ceiling again.
Perfective; the prefix пере- here means doing the job over.

(rare) to overbleach, to whitewash too much
Она́ перебели́ла бельё, и оно́ ста́ло ло́мким.
She overbleached the laundry and it became brittle.
- 3.
(rare) to whitewash all (one after another), to bleach everything (in turn)
Он перебели́л все стены в до́ме.
He whitewashed all the walls in the house one after another.
