to make a wry face, to grimace, to wince
Он скриви́лся от бо́ли.
He winced with pain.
Often with от боли / от отвращения; describes a brief involuntary or disdainful expression.
2.
to become crooked, to become bent, to go lopsided
Ста́рый забо́р совсе́м скриви́лся.
The old fence has gone completely crooked.

He grimaced after tasting the sour lemon.
Ребёнок, проглатывавший таблетку, скривился от горечи.
The child swallowing a pill grimaced at its bitterness.
