Both imperfective verbs затопля́ть and зата́пливать share the same perfective verb затопи́ть.
Examples
Без водоотлива тоннель быстро затопило бы.
Without pumping out the water, the tunnel would quickly have flooded.

The overflowing river flooded the neighboring fields.
