The evening star shows us the way home.
Archaic and dialectal; in modern Russian replaced by показывать.

to show oneself, to show one's face, to turn up
Он неде́лю не каза́л но́су на рабо́ту.
He hasn't shown his face at work for a week.
Chiefly in the negated set phrases не казать носу / не казать глаз 'not show one's face'.
3.
(rare) to say, to tell, to explain
Каза́ли, что он уже́ уе́хал.
They said he had already left.
Southern Russian dialectal, under Ukrainian influence.
