Usually with в + accusative: толкнуться в дверь.

Я толкну́лся к нача́льнику, но он отказа́л.
I approached the boss but he refused.
Colloquial; with к + dative.
3.
to push one another, to jostle
Все толкну́лись к вы́ходу.
Everyone pushed toward the exit.
