Often used to ask for helpful information politely.
2.
to prompt, to whisper the answer, to remind quietly
Мой однокла́ссник всегда́ подска́зывал мне на экза́менах.
My classmate always prompted me during exams.
Typically done discreetly - in class or on stage.
3.
to suggest (an idea), to tell (of intuition)
Интуи́ция подска́зывает мне, что э́то оши́бка.
My intuition tells me that this is a mistake.
Subject is usually intuition, experience or the heart.
