Он дожда́лся приёма у врача́.
He waited until the doctor could see him.
Perfective: stresses that the waiting was successful and the awaited thing arrived. Object in the genitive.
2.
to wait (impatiently)
Не могу́ дожда́ться кани́кул.
I can't wait for the holidays.
Chiefly in negative constructions: не могу дождаться 'I can't wait'.
