The craftsman richly decorated the box with carving.
Perfective; suggests decorating the whole surface, often lavishly.
2.
to spoil, to disfigure, to mess up
Он изукра́сил всю тетра́дь кля́ксами.
He messed up the whole notebook with ink blots.
Colloquial and ironic — literally 'decorate' with stains scratches etc.
3.
(rare) to beat black and blue, to beat up badly
Его так изукра́сили в дра́ке, что мать не узна́ла.
They beat him black and blue in the fight so his mother didn't recognize him.
Colloquial and ironic.
