Он проси́лся в о́тпуск.
He asked for leave.
Often with в/на + accusative naming the destination: проситься в отпуск, проситься домой.
2.
to ask to be let out, to need to go (to the toilet)
Ребёнок про́сится в туале́т.
The child needs to go to the toilet.
Used of small children and pets.
3.
(rare) to be crying out for, to beg to be
Э́та карти́на так и про́сится в музе́й.
This painting is simply crying out to be in a museum.
Figurative, of things that seem to demand a certain use or place.

Examples

Малыш уже сам просится какать на горшок.
The little one already asks to use the potty to poop by himself.
Собака просится домой после прогулки.
The dog wants to go home after the walk.
Она давно просится в отпуск.
She has been wanting to go on vacation for a long time.
Ребёнок просится на улицу гулять.
The child is asking to go outside to play.
