Дети ска́тывались с го́рки на са́нках.
The children were sliding down the hill on sledges.
Usually with с + genitive: скатываться с горы.

to slide into, to sink into, to degenerate into
Страна́ ска́тывается к кри́зису.
The country is sliding into a crisis.
With к or в + a negative state: скатываться к войне.
3.
to be rolled up, to roll up (of itself)
Ковёр легко́ ска́тывается в руло́н.
The carpet rolls up into a roll easily.
Passive/reflexive of скатывать.
