Он всади́л нож в де́рево.
He drove the knife into the tree.
Of knives, needles, axes and the like; implies force.
2.
to put (a bullet into), to pump (a bullet into), to fire (into)
Он всади́л ему пу́лю в грудь.
He put a bullet in his chest.
Usually with пулю/заряд.
3.
to sink (money into), to pour (money into)
Он всади́л все деньги в э́тот дом.
He sank all his money into that house.
Colloquial; suggests the money was wasted.

Examples

Он всадил нож прямо в дерево.
He drove the knife straight into the tree.
Врач всадил иглу ему в руку.
The doctor stuck a needle into his arm.
Будь осторо́жен, а то он тебе нож в спи́ну вса́дит.
Be careful or he'll stab you in the back.
