Usage info

меня́ть / поменя́ть vs. изменя́ть / измени́ть: both can mean to change something, but меня́ть implies swapping or replacing (one thing goes, another comes in), while изменя́ть implies modifying or altering something that remains. Compare: поменя́ть план (scrap one plan, adopt a new one) vs. измени́ть план (adjust or revise the existing plan).
