    She looked after her grandson all day.

    Used with с + instrumental: нянчиться с ребёнком.

    Что ты с таки́м безде́льником ня́нчишься?

    Why do you fuss over such a loafer?

    Disapproving: spend too much effort on someone who does not deserve it.

  • 3.

    to fuss with, to mess about with, to fiddle with

    Хва́тит ня́нчиться с э́той ста́рой маши́ной!

    Stop fiddling with that old car!

    Colloquial and usually disapproving.
