    Of running round an obstacle or along the outside of something.

    Я обега́л все магази́ны, но ничего не нашёл.

    I ran round all the shops but found nothing.

    Usually with a plural object: all the shops, all one's friends.

    (rareto outrun, to outstrip (in running)sports

    На последнем кру́ге он обега́ет всех сопе́рников.

    On the last lap he outruns all his rivals.
