Perfective; imperfective обмётывать. Also обметать петли 'to buttonhole-stitch'.

(rare) to break out (in sores), to become covered with a rashmedicine
Губы́ обмета́ло от просту́ды.
His lips broke out in sores from the cold.
Impersonal, usually of lips or skin: губы обметало.
