Every summer we sail around this island in a boat.
With a direct object: go round an obstacle by water.
4.
(rare) to become blurred, to lose shape
Очерта́ния домо́в оплыва́ли в тума́не.
The outlines of the houses were becoming blurred in the fog.
Of contours or shapes that stop being distinct.
