It's hard for an adult, and all the more so for a child.
Intensifies a preceding statement, often after 'а'.

Остава́йся, тем бо́лее что уже́ по́здно.
Stay, especially since it's already late.
Usually in the phrase 'тем более что' introducing a reason.

He cannot buy a car, still less a house.
