to bite, to give a bite, to snap at
Соба́ка укуси́ла меня́ за но́гу.
The dog bit me on the leg.
Perfective: a single act of biting. The part bitten is introduced with за: укусить за руку.
2.
to sting, to bite
Меня́ укуси́л кома́р.
A mosquito bit me.
Used of mosquitoes, bees, ants and the like.

Examples

Э́тот ста́рый пёс мо́жет ла́ять, но больше не мо́жет укуси́ть.
This old dog can bark, but it can no longer bite.
Не подходи́ бли́зко к бульдо́гу, вдруг уку́сит.
Don't come near to the bulldog in case it bites.
Твоя́ соба́ка меня укуси́ла.
Your dog bit me.
Том меня укуси́л.
Tom bit me.
Бетти укуси́ла лету́чая мышь.
