Perfective: a single act of biting. The part bitten is introduced with за: укусить за руку.

to sting, to bite
Меня́ укуси́л кома́р.
A mosquito bit me.
Used of mosquitoes, bees, ants and the like.

Examples

Don't come near to the bulldog in case it bites.
