Translation

1.
To add more or give extra.
Example: Он всегда́ додаёт немно́го со́ли. - He always adds a little bit of salt.
Info: This verb is quite uncommon. We would rather use "Добавля́ть/Доба́вить".
2.
To complete an addition or make up a difference
Also: give what's missing.
Example: Он дода́л недостаю́щие пять рубле́й к су́мме. - He added the missing five rubles to the total amount.
3.
(Metaphorical use.) To give or supply abstract qualities.
Example: Ма́ма всегда́ додава́ла нам сил и уве́ренность в тру́дные времена́. - Mom always gave us strength and confidence during tough times.

This verb is not common in modern Russian and has largely been replaced by the verbs "Добавля́ть/Доба́вить" and "Прибавля́ть/Приба́вить".
