Эта стена способна вы́держать удар атомной бомбы.
This wall can withstand the blast of an atomic bomb.
Often with an object naming the load or the ordeal: удар, вес, боль.
2.
to pass (an exam), to get through, to come through
Он с трудом вы́держал экзамен.
He barely passed the exam.
With экзамен, испытание, искус and similar nouns.
