1.
never (not for anything), on no account, not at any price
Они́ ни за что не покло́нятся.
They will never bow down.
Used with a negated verb for emphatic refusal.
2.
for nothing, for free, for no reason
Я получи́л кни́гу ни за что.
I got the book for nothing.
