to worry, to be anxious, to be worried
Она́ трево́жится за сы́на.
She worries about her son.
Often with за + accusative or о + prepositional naming the person or thing worried about.
2.
to be alarmed, to get agitated, to trouble oneself
Не трево́жьтесь по пустяка́м.
Don't get worked up over trifles.
Often in the negative imperative: не тревожьтесь 'don't trouble yourself'.

Examples

Мы трево́жимся за их безопа́сность.
We are anxious for their safety.
Жизнь слишком коротка́, чтобы трево́житься о таки́х веща́х.
Life is too short to worry about things like that.
Не трево́жься. У тебя поя́вятся но́вые друзья́.
Don't worry. You'll make new friends.
Не трево́жьтесь, его ра́на не опа́сна.
Don't be alarmed. He's not hurt badly.
Зна́ние, как именно я умру́, только заста́вит меня трево́житься о попада́нии в ситуа́цию, в кото́рой, как я зна́ю, мне предстои́т умере́ть.
Knowing how I would die would only make me anxious about the kind of situations I'd know I'll eventually die in.
