Она́ задира́ла подо́л ю́бки, что́бы не намо́кнуть.
She kept pulling up the hem of her skirt so it would not get wet.
Perfective: задрать. Often of clothing or of the head.

to tease, to pick on, to provoke, to bully
Ста́ршие ма́льчики постоя́нно задира́ли его́ в шко́ле.
The older boys were constantly picking on him at school.
Colloquial; usually задирать кого-нибудь.
- 3.
to tear, to rip, to maul (of a predator)
Во́лки ка́ждую о́сень задира́ли ове́ц в дере́вне.
Every autumn wolves killed sheep in the village.
Of skin, bark, or of a predator killing livestock.
