Usage info
Заговаривать and заговорить are not a completely matched aspect pair. The meaning of "to speak" or "to start a conversation" is normal usage for the perfective form, but considered archaic for the imperfective form заговаривать. Both forms convey the meaning of "casting a spell" or "smooth-talking".
