Motion info

зайти́ is derived from the unidirectional verb of motion идти́ with prefix за- (go behind / start).

зайти к кому: to stop by someone's place зайти за кем: to stop and pick someone up

Examples: Он зашёл к сестре (Dat.). He dropped in to see his sister. Он зашёл за сестрой (Inst.). He stopped by to pick up his sister.

Я хоте́л бы зайти́ к вам сего́дня вечером.I should like to call on you this evening.

Пожалуйста, не забу́дь зайти́ к нему за́втра.Please don't forget to see him tomorrow.
