Motion info

зайти́ is derived from the unidirectional verb of motion идти́ with prefix за- (go behind / start).

зайти к кому: to stop by someonés place зайти за кем: to stop and pick someone up

Examples: Он зашёл к сестре (Dat.). He dropped in to see his sister. Он зашёл за сестрой (Inst.). He stopped by to pick up his sister.

Мне нужно зайти́.I need to go in.

Пожалуйста, не забу́дь зайти́ к нему за́втра.Please don't forget to see him tomorrow.

Если в ко́мнате бы́ло два челове́ка и трое вы́шли, то один должен зайти́ обратно, чтобы в ко́мнате нико́го не бы́ло.If there are two in a room and three go out, one must go in, so that none is in the room.
