She rubbed the berries into a pulp with sugar.
Often with в порошок 'to powder' or through a sieve.

to wipe up, to wipe dry (one by one)
Перетри́ всю посу́ду полоте́нцем.
Wipe all the dishes dry with a towel.

to wear through, to fray, to chafe through
Ка́мень перетёр верёвку.
The stone wore the rope through.
4.
to talk over, to discuss, to sort out (informally)
Нам надо перетере́ть э́тот вопро́с.
We need to talk this matter over.
Colloquial/slang.
5.
(rare) to overcome, to conquer
Терпе́ние и труд всё перетру́т.
Patience and hard work overcome everything.
Only in the proverb «Терпение и труд всё перетрут».
